Renee,

This blog site will be very useful for the RDW and others, once they know about it. Looks great!

Paradise Town Web Site

Hi All,

I have been looking around in the Paradise Town website (in the list Renee has included on the blog opening page). It has a lot of interesting information about the plans and related implementation activities in Paradise. All in one spot. Louise

Magalia Area Issues

I sent an email to Tim Snellings last night asking about Magalia area workshops. He sent me a very nice email stating that the issues about Magalia were discussed at the Paradise unincorporated area meeting on May 30th, and thanking me for my interest. He also said that the notes for that meeting are online at the Butte County General Plan website.

Virtual Minutes

These are the notes I sent to Mary. They might serve as a summary of my view of our meeting. Please feel free to add your views. Louise

We (RDW) met at Juice and Java today also. We missed you. Good meeting. We talked about the Ad Hoc meeting yesterday, & each person summarized what they thought they could bring to all of this.

Karen suggested a slogan - "Politics of the Possible". Not finalized.

We will have a rotating facilitatorship to run meetings, Renee is setting up a blog for meeting notes and communication between times, I set up a calendar of events of interest to us.

Our function, as we see it now is information gathering and coordination of dissemination (like letter writing, meeting participation, etc)

The RDW (Ridge Democratic Women)will meet the third Monday of the month, 7:00 PM, and Sue is going to see if we can use the Paradise Public Library.

The group is associated with the Democratic club, but we see ourselves as inclusive (good Democrats) and welcome anyone who is interested in being active on Ridge issues.

Each meeting will generate real "action items". This time:
1. (actually from last time) Sue checked with the Magalia POA, reported on their recycle plan. Hope to have the NRWS (new Paradise system) available there as an option by August 1.
2. Interested folks are going to request a General Plan seminar be scheduled in Magalia
3. Louise is looking at an emerging technogy to use sewage to create biofuels, eye toward presenting the idea to the right people as they consider what to do when the sewage ponds at the landfill are closed. Lisa is going to check with her sister about sewage recycling plan in Washington she has worked on.
4. Everyone should create an e-mail address list for RDW to be sure everyone gets all messages
5. Renee is going to set up the blog
6. Louise is going to set up the calendar

Robin is involved with the new Paradise Homeless Task Force. They have just begun, have selected a name - Ridge Housing Coalition.

The Ad Hoc meeting was interesting. There are 5 priority areas for the year for "Ridge" communities:
1. Community development standards (roads, water, sewage, development etc.)
2. Mutual aid agreement (fire, snow, etc)
3. Outdoor burning (they hope to eliminate now that there is a recycle service)
4. Onsite waste (landfill, recycle for Magalia, etc)
5. Upper Ridge evacuation route (Skyway is it right now, and the dam is a dangerous bottleneck)

Informative session for background. And non-partison. These are apparently basically informational in nature. Next one will be August 21, 3:00 at the Town Hall.

Blog Looks Great!

Thank you Renee, for the fine looking blog. It is clean, to the point, and very accessible. Yeah!
